What You Need to Hear

Hey girls,
Have you ever watched this video? I first saw it in high school and it really hit home with me. It is a video of a guy saying all of these amazing things about girls. All things that are true for every girl. No matter what. We are all beautiful. We are never too much, we are all always enough. We are all worthy. We are God's creation. We are more than a number. More than a scale or social media. Those things do not define who we are. Think about it? Did Mary the Mother of God get her 'fame' from having a ton of followers on social media? Was she miss popular because she had a posse and was voted best dressed or most likely to succeed? No, of course not because that was not a thing back then. Mary is an icon because of one thing. Faith. She had faith. She believed in God and she was picked by him. She was worthy of being chosen. Worthy of love.
We can't all be Mary but that is ok. Because then we would not have different people. We would all be boring people having Baby Jesus and we would not be seen as unique or special. There would not be history. It is ok that we don't feel 100% of the time. Trust me I know. I know what it is like to not want to look in the mirror because it only gives you doubt and shame. I know that feeling. It is ok to feel like you can't do anything right. I know that feeling. But just because you have that feeling, does not mean that it is true. It is a temporary feeling. A feeling that can go away with one thought. One single though: I am God's daughter. I am God's daughter. That's it. That is all you need. Because that is all that matters. We are made in God's image. We have him inside of us. That helps makes us special. That makes us worth something. We are alive. We are strong. We are capable of anything.
I know it can be hard to fully believe our worth. I know that it will always seem like there is someone better than you in your life. We all feel like that. Even those girls that seem like they have it all have their doubts. We are in a world that is obsessed with being perfect. There is no definition true of perfection. Because perfect is not a thing. You cannot strive for perfection because we do not get graded on how good we are at being alive. We can't get an A or and F. It is not possible and it should not be possible. Because you cannot mess up being human. We cannot ruin the female population by getting into a car accident or wearing blue shoes with a black dress. It just is not possible. Trust me, it isn't.
That video is true for all of us because we are human. Because we are alive and we are women of the world. There are no limits or exceptions mentioned because they are not needed. The whole female population is talked about in that video because WE ARE AWESOME. We are pretty fantastic. Don't forget that. We are amazing because we can do or be anything (except we cannot be a murderer that is morally wrong ;) ). We have that choice. Because we are beautiful. We are enough. We are worthy. We are God's creation. We are more than a number. So embrace it. Love it. Live it. Own it. Because we are more than a number.
