Name Change
Hey Everyone!
As you can see, I changed the name of my blog to Empowerment and Freedom. :) Don't worry-I am still going to follow the you are more theme. But I felt a little limited by this title. I felt like I had to fit it all into a little box and that is not why I started this blog. I started this blog to help people escape the stereotypes and social expectations. I started it to break out of the box of expectations and judgements. We are all more than our past and what people use to define us. But even if we believe that we need something to make us feel good and help us move forward. So, that is why I used the words Empowerment and Freedom. Those are two of my favorite words. They hold so much meaning and hope. They literally just make me smile when I hear them. I think to help explain all of this I need to explain what the words mean and how they relate to me. So let's do it!
Empower:to promote the self-actualization and influence of self
What this means to me: Being empowered or having empowerment means having the ability to feel worth and love. It actually means a number of things but that it is one of the more common takeaways. For me personally, it was me having the ability to use my voice. I have a lot to say and sometimes I feel like I can't speak up. I have learned that that is not the case and people want to listen.
Freedom: the state of being free from something. Breaking the invisible handcuffs

What it means to me: For me being free is about being able to go out and have fun without worrying about judgements. It is about accepting the past and moving on from it without letting it hold you down. In this video, I decided to dance on a speaker at a school dance because...well...why not?
I hope that this helps give you all some insight into those two words. I am really excited for my blog this year. I think that this is really going to help get my message out. Remember you always are and always will be more. Ciao mis amores!
