Who Am I?

I am more than a number on a scale. I am more than the number of likes on Instagram. I am more. I am worth more and you are too. We are all worth more. Personally, I am sick of how beauty and self worth is defined and how the media distorts pictures just to make girls feel like they need to be that thin and perfect. Because let's be honest, most girls do not have the overall 'perfect' body according to the media. But honestly, we are all perfect. Because we are human and we are alive. We are all beautiful because we are made in God's image. That is all that should matter to us. Not what kind of clothes we wear or how we look. But who we all came from. This blog is aimed to helped girls come to the realization that I am coming to: We are more than a number.

So my goal is to help make a difference in how girls see themselves. So that they know that they matter and that they are beautiful. Each post will focus on something new. Whether it is body image, health tips, stories, interviews, or songs. It will be different. I want this to be a place where girls can go and find hope that it does get better. I want it to be a place that helps.
Who am I to say all of this you ask? I know that it might be hard to believe and hear me but let me just tell you. I know the feeling. I know the doubt and uncertainty that a girl can have. My name is Roisin Gibbons. I am an 19 year old college girl who struggles with self-image just like the next girl. I am a Social Work Major with a goal of making a difference. I am more than a number.
